Dr Linzi Ladlow

I am a Sociologist and Senior Research Associate at the University of Lincoln, where I hold a Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship. My research focuses on young parenthood, family life and social inequalities, with particular interests in poverty and stigma, housing, intergenerational relationships, fatherhood, parental leave and children’s lived experiences.

My current Fellowship, ‘Reframing Young Parenthood: Intergenerational Dynamics of Poverty and Stigma’, focuses on low-income young parent families and brings children’s perspectives into research alongside those of young mothers and fathers. It builds on my longstanding research on young parenthood, including six years as a Research Fellow on the Following Young Fathers Further study.

I specialise in qualitative longitudinal, creative and participatory research, with extensive experience of securing and delivering funded projects. I am Co-Director of the Centre for Innovation in Fatherhood and Family Research and Co-Lead of the Social Policy Association’s Family Policy Group. I also deliver NCRM training on creative and participatory methods and work closely with policy, practice and community partners.
